This example from Moreton shows how the top of every signpost in Dorset once looked. Besides showing directions, each sign post told you exactly where you were located. The numbers at the bottom being the Ordnance Survey grid reference for the spot.

The the windows of the parish church of St. Nicholas at Moreton were designed and engraved by Sir Laurence Whistler to replace those blown out by a bomb in World War II. Moreton is also the burial place of Lawrence of Arabia.

The grave of Thomas Edward Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) is in the churchyard of Moreton Parish Church. Lawrence was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident while riding a Brough Superior motorcycle close to his cottage at Clouds Hill.
