Typical of many of the village halls in Dorset, this one at Evershot is totally out of keeping with the architecture of this estate village.

The River Frome rises in the Dorset Downs at Evershot, passes through Maiden Newton, Dorchester, West Stafford and Woodsford. At Wareham it and the River Piddle, also known as the River Trent, flow into Poole Harbour via the Wareham Channel.
Tess Cottage, Evershot

Reputedly the cottage on which Thomas Hardy based Tess’ Cottage in his novel Tess of the d’Urbervilles. Also visible is the parish church of St. Osmund.
